Rev. Clark DeSarro-Raynal has been our minister since 2014. A seventh-generation Presbyterian minister, he holds the Master of Divinity and Master of Christian Education degrees from Union Presbyterian Seminary. He was ordained in 2001. His first call was to a year of mission work in Managua, Nicaragua. He then served a ten year pastorate in Martinsburg, WV and a three-year pastorate in Prestonsburg, KY. He is delighted to serve the Hilton congregation! Clark and his wife Donna and their three children, Josiah, 14, Elijah, 12, and India, 10, live in Hilton Village four blocks away from the church. "We love it here!" India attends Hilton Elementary. Elijah attends Hines Middle and Josiah attends Warwick High. Donna is also a PC(USA) minister. She currently serves the Community Presbyterian Church in Hampton. As well, she is an adjunct professor in religion at Christopher Newport University. Clark was born in Sanford, NC, and raised in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He was a piano major at UNC-Greensboro, and before becoming a minister, he was a music teacher and journeyman craftsman in stained glass.

Megan-Drew Tiller (yes, it's a double name!) joined the staff in August 2016 and enjoys getting to dress up for various preschool holidays. A Hilton native, Megan-Drew enjoys long walks on a short beach. She has a cat named Smeowgal, because the only thing better than Lord of the Rings is a bad pun. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2013 with a major in drama and a minor in religious studies and is currently earning a Masters of Communication and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Johns Hopkins. She is the third generation of Notary Public in her family, so please feel free to stop by the office to have something notarized or to say hello!

Lois is a native of Reading, PA. That means she knows how to make the best German potato salad on the
east coast and also knows a good cheesesteak when she sees one. Leading others in the joy of singing,
ringing, and drumming is living her dream. She has been the music director at HPC since 2006, taught
classroom music for 20 years, and now leads students to a better life through aqua fitness. In the fall of 2018
she founded High Notes Music School at HPC to bring the joy of making music to people of all ages in the
community. She lives with her husband, Al, who is also a full-time musician (and connoisseur of puns) and
has two dogs from the island of St. Croix, named Prancer and Vixen.
Doris Slagle and her husband, Charles, have been members of Hilton Presbyterian since 1972. In August, 1999, Doris began as interim organist and accepted the organist position in 2000. Before joining the HPC staff, Doris taught middle school math in Newport News and worked part-time as a tutor in the AVID program.
Doris earned her BS from King College in Bristol, TN, majoring in mathematics; she took organ lessons while attending college and sang in the a capella choir. She also studied under Brad Norris of St. Andrews Episcopal Church for two years before becoming organist at HPC.
She and Charles are proud parents of a son, Eric, who lives with his wife, Angie and their three children, Aidan, Emma, and Rose; and a daughter, Angela and her husband, Nat.
HPC Preschool Director
Susan Murphy has a Master of Arts in Teaching in elementary education from Rhode Island College, taught for 5 years in Hampton City Schools, has served as chairman of our Preschool Board, and has five sons who are alumni of our program. Susan joined our staff in 2005. She currently serves as Preschool Director as well a teacher of our 5-day a week class.
R. Lucille Massenberg
Lucille has been a part of HPC ever since her husband, Wilbert, joined the staff. After 40 years of service, Wilbert is no longer with us but Lucille has stayed on. The Massenbergs have made Hilton PC a lifelong mission of which we are honored and grateful.
